Wildwood Sanctuary
We believe in second chances.
Wildwood Sanctuary is the heart of Wildwood K9’s animal welfare mission: a real, long-term home for dogs that others have given up on.
We are not a temporary shelter but a sanctuary. A place of patience, trust-building, trauma-informed care, and eventual integration into loving homes when the time is right.
Too many dogs are overlooked not because they aren’t lovable but because they’ve been labelled “too complicated,” “too difficult,” or “too misunderstood.” At Wildwood Sanctuary, we know that with the right environment, care, and connection, these dogs can thrive.
Every dog that arrives is met with compassion, personalized behavioral support, enrichment, and slow-paced reintegration, not a ticking clock. We nurture trust, body and mind, one moment at a time, and let the dogs tell us their stories, themselves.
But we can't do this alone.
We are raising funds to build the foundation of this sanctuary — a space where every dog lives with dignity, safety, and purpose.
Your Support Today Helps Us:

⭐ Build dog-friendly homes and behavioral spaces
⭐ Grow a greenhouse for natural medicines, food, and all-season enrichment
⭐ Provide trauma-informed care and long-term reintegration
We are fundraising on GoFundMe now — and every dollar brings us closer to giving these dogs the sanctuary they deserve.
Please give generously and be part of building a place where compassion meets action.
Why Wildwood Sanctuary Matters
Across Canada, animal shelters care for thousands of dogs each year — but they are often overwhelmed by the volume, the complexity of needs, and limited capacity. In 2021 alone, nearly 21,000 dogs entered shelters across the country, and roughly 10% were euthanized because space and resources ran out before they could find a safe outcome.
Traditional shelters and foster networks are incredible but many are stretched to capacity, particularly for dogs who:
- Carry trauma from past neglect, abuse, or abandonment
- React with fear rather than aggression, and thus are misunderstood
- Need extended behavioral rehabilitation and care that foster homes often can’t provide
This isn’t a failure of love, it’s a systemic problem. Many of these dogs don’t get a real chance at life because they need time, stability, and compassionate expertise - not rushed transitions.
That’s where Wildwood Sanctuary comes in.
We're building something different.
- A permanent home where dogs aren’t shuffled through temporary housing
- A community of care that supports healing at the dog’s pace
- A space designed for long-term enrichment, physical health, and emotional safety
- A greenhouse and land to grow nourishing food, natural medicines, and enrichment structures
Our goal is not just to save lives, but to deeply improve them - and if a dog is ready, we help them find their perfect forever home. But for some, that journey can take 1–3 years of investment and care.
That’s why your trust and support matter more than ever.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Tyler and Tasha from MNM-K9! They fostered our dog, Churro, before we adopted him, and it’s clear that their care and dedication played a huge role in shaping him into the amazing pup he is today. Since then, they’ve continued to be an invaluable part of Churro’s life by helping us with training to make sure he’s behaved and happy.
Churro absolutely loves going to stay with them for boarding too. He gets so excited every time we drop him off! The fun pack walks and the loving environment they provide make it feel like a second home for him. What really sets them apart is how they involve our whole family in the process. They’ve included our kids in the training and have been so patient in teaching them how to help train and understand our dog, which has been both fun and empowering for them.
We couldn’t ask for a better trainer, mentor, and extended family for our dog. Highly recommend!

Tyler and his associates are the best dog trainers that you can ever find! It doesn't matter what breed of dog you have! He was recommended to us by a friend and it was just the best experience from day one! We have a female doberman (now 5 years old) who is not easy to handle! He met her when she was just a puppy and is the only one from day one that we trust 100% and do not need to worry about anything! Our dog stayed with him so many times when we go on vacation and always had the best everything (training, outside exercise and hanging out with other dogs, food, accommodation and unconditional love). Not to forget to mention, always available if you have any kind of questions about food, ticks, no appetite, separation anxiety, spayed from skunk, better training or vet visits(this is only some things that I can remember we asked him through the years). Simply just one of a kind who dedicated his life to dogs! We would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat!

This facility is like in home dog boarding. it offers lots of playtime, enrichment and most importantly qualified, experienced owners to keep your pet safe. Wildwood k9 have helped our rescue with some of our most difficult dogs and we are forever grateful for their help. I recommend this place for training and for boarding. Lovely, quiet setting too.
